Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standard

Kangerlussuaq Airport (BGSF) and Narsarsuaq Airport (BGBW) with 2,810 and 1,830 meter runways respectively are uniquely located between Europe and North America. They offer safe and optimal ETOPS alternates for aircraft operators on transatlantic flights.

Both airports are modern, CAA certified, international airports with professional staff and all necessary equipment. Narsarsuaq Airport (BGBW) is Category 7 Airport Rescue Fire Service certified while Kangerlussuaq Airport (BGSF) is Category 8 Airport Rescue Fire Service certified.

Aircraft operators who need Kangerlussuaq and Narsarsuaq Airports as ETOPS alternates will be able to enter into a special agreement with Mittarfeqarfiit. Agreements will only be settled for long-term contracts of no less than 3 months.
